This is Shea butter. It is the fat extracted from shea nuts of the Shea tree. Shea trees are native to West Africa and the nut butter has been used cosmetically for centuries. Shea butter is extremely good for your skin (and hair) because it is packed with vitamins (A, E and F), nutrients, and fatty acids. It absorbs well into skin, boosts collagen production, moisturizes, heals skin conditions and can even protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
